PORTER The Capron Baptist Church has suffered an irreparable loss in the death of Miss Amanda Porter, who was called to her home not made with hands on October 22, 1921. Miss Amanda was a woman of the highest type of character, and was of sterling worth to her church and community. She was one of the charter members of the Baptist Church and a most consistent and consecrated Christian woman. Her influence will love long in the lives of those with whom she associated. Owing to the illness of her pastor, the funeral services were conducted by Rev. M.A. MacLean of the Franklin Baptist Church, and her body was laid to rest October 24 in the Capron Cemetery under a mound of beautiful flowers, tributes of love from her many loved ones and friends. Miss Amanda was 83 years old and was usually active until the last two years of her life for one of so many years. She is survived by a devoted sister, Miss Eliza Porter, and a number of nieces and nephews. We wish to extend our deepest sympathy especially to the sister and a devoted niece, Mrs. W.R. Smith, who so faithfully and willingly watched over Miss Amanda during her last illness. The active pallbearers were T.J. Harrell, W.H. Ezelle, B.F. Lamb, W.B. Griffin, W.B. Baugham and T.J.
