ALLEN MURFREE PARTRIDGE 

ALLEN PARTRIDGE DIES; EX-SOUTHAMPTON LEADER 

Allen Murfee Partridge, a former member of the Southampton County Board of 
Supervisors, died yesterday.  He was 76.

Mrs. Partridge, who was also a farmer, was a vice chairman of the board for 
eight years.  He served on the board 1955-67 and 1971-83.

He was a member of Hebron Baptist Church, where he was chairman of the board 
of deacons, a post he held for more than 20 years.  He also had been church 
school superintendent for many years.  He was a former officer of the 
Drewryville Ruritan Club.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mildred Garner Partridge; a daughter Ms. 
Sarah Russell of Virginia Beach; two sons, William A. Partridge and Eddie A. 
Partridge, both of Drewryville; a sister, Mrs. Louise Claud of Montross; and 
two brothers, William S. Partridge of Chase City and John E. Partridge of 
Branchville.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. tomorrow at Hebron Baptist Church. 
Burial will be in Drewryville Cemetery.

The family says that memorial contributions may be made to Hebron Baptist 
Church, Route 1, Box 151, Drewryville, Va. 23844, or to the Capron Rescue 
Squad.
