H. Fred Edge. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin, with the Rev. R.E. Brittle officiating. She died Sunday in her home in Portsmouth. A native of Franklin, she was the wife of Oscar M. Porter. She was a member of the Christian Church. Other survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Bernice Story and Mrs. Zellie Barden of Franklin and Mrs. Cora McClenny of Chester; a brother, William Joseph Umphlett Jr. of Norfolk; and several nieces and nephews.
