A native of Southampton County, she was a daughter of Charlie and Mrs. Hester Story Vick and wife of Amos Porter. She was a member of Newsoms Methodist Church. Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Mattie Fuller and Mrs. Catherine Pope of Emporia and Miss Jackie Porter of Boykins; two sons, James T. Porter and Roy W. Porter of Boykins; a brother, Dellie R. Vick of Courtland; and four grandchildren. A funeral service will be held today at 2:30 p.m. in McDowell Funeral Home by the Rev. Lawrence W. George and the Rev. Harold Heath. Mrs. Porter was a lifelong resident of Southampton County and a daughter of the late Charlie and Mrs. Hester Story Vick. She was a member of the Newsoms Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband Amos Porter; three daughters, Mrs. Mattie P. Fuller and Mrs. Catherine Pope of Emporia, Miss Jackie Porter of Boykins; two sons, James T. Porter and Roy W. Porter of Boykins; a brother, Dellie R. Vick of Courtland; four grandchildren. A funeral service was conducted Monday at 2:30 p.m. in the McDowell Funeral Home, Boykins, with the Rev. Lawrence W. George, pastor of Newsoms Methodist Church officiating, and assisted by the Rev. Harold Heath of Calvary Baptist Church of Emporia. Burial was in the Newsoms Cemetery. Pallbearers were Walter Porter, Raymond Porter, James Porter, Clifton Vick, Melvin Vick, Milton Amos and William Westerman.
