Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, February 15, at 3 p.m. at the W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home by the Revs. Harry W. Backhus, R.D. Stephenson and L.G. Tinnell, with interment in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Mr. Porter was the son of Percy and the late Mrs. Lizzie Beale Porter of Southampton County. Survivors include his father; his wife, Mrs. Murdis Moody Porter; four daughters, Marguerite, Anna Moody, Rose Dale and Barbara Ellis, all of Franklin; and one sister, Mrs. E.I. Miles of Handsom.
