PORTER BOYKINS - Randolph Gray Porter, 57, died early Sunday in a Franklin hospital. A native of Southampton County, he was the husband of Mrs. Effie Worrell Porter and a son of the late Thomas Henry and Mrs. Virginia Gray Porter. He was an accountant and a past 4th District vice commander of the American Legion, Department of Virginia. He was a member of Boykins Baptist Church. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Besides his widow, surviving are a brother, Lewis T. Porter, and a sister, Mrs. Lizzie P. Simmons, both of Boykins. A funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. today in Boykins Baptist Church by the Rev. Ben B. Ussery. Burial was in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins, with McDowell Funeral Home in charge.
