Prince, wife of the late George W. Prince of this county, died at her home in the Newsoms community Sunday morning after a brief illness with pneumonia, in her 79th year. Mrs. Prince was a member of the well-known and prominent Pope family of Southampton, the daughter of the late George and Mrs. Louisa Pope, and was born and reared at the present home of Mrs. Eppa B. Prince, just across the highway from the Prince place. Her husband, who was an outstanding citizen of this county, died February 13, 1924, and she is survived by two sons, W.B. Prince of New York and R.E. Prince of Norfolk, and a daughter, Miss Lulie Prince. Another son, who was well and favorably known in this county, Eppa B. Prince, died seven years ago. She also leaves one brother, George Pope; a sister, Mrs. E.M. Darden of Norfolk, and six grandchildren. Mrs. Prince was an exceptionally estimable woman of many fine and engaging traits of character. She was a consistent member of the Newsoms Baptist Church and numbered many friends throughout her home community. Funeral rites were conducted from the home Monday by her Pastor, Rev. L.E. Dailey and by Rev. R. Harrison Marks of Capron. Burial was made in the family plot in Newsoms Cemetery, the pallbearers being: R.N. Darden, Dr. B.A. Pope, Julian Dickens, Julian B. Worrell of Como, Robert M. Darden, W. Griggs Pope, E. Allen Darden and W. Blunt Darden of Norfolk. Annie Mae (POPE; Mrs. George W.) PRINCE, b.
