Prince of Franklin, died Monday afternoon at her home on First Avenue after an illness of a few months. Mrs. Prince was the daughter of the late Carr and Selina Beale, of Southampton County. Besides her husband she is survived by one sister, Mrs. J.E. Lawrence of Franklin; two nieces, Misses Helen and Catherine Lawrence of Franklin and one nephew, Henry Lawrence of Portsmouth. Services were conducted from the residence Tuesday afternoon at 3 o’clock by the Rev. R.D. Stephenson of the Franklin Baptist Church. Interment was in Poplar Spring Cemetery here, active pallbearers being Colonel E.E. Goodwyn and J.T. Harris of Emporia; Dr. W.L. Prince and Cyrus Beale of Richmond; Carl Prince of Sussex Courthouse; J.D. Owen of Sedley; J.D. Woodard of Courtland, and C.C. Vaughan, III. Honorary pallbearers were Mayor R. H. Powell, Jr. Town Commissioners L.R. Jones, J.B. Gay, S.W. Rawls and Civil and Police Justice C.J. Edwards, Mr. Prince being a member of the Commission.
