All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ WILLIAM BELTON PRINCE William Belton Prince, 70, a resident of New York City for the past 48 years and a native of Southampton County, died in a New York hospital on Monday, April 25, after an illness of some months. Mr. Prince was a son of the late George W. and Annie M. Pope Prince of this county. A graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute, he was associated with the American Telephone Company for 40 years, retiring about five years ago. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Betty H. Prince of New York City; one sister, Miss Ann Louise Prince of Newsoms; and a brother, Richard E. Prince of Norfolk. Final rites for Mr. Prince were conducted at the graveside in Newsoms Cemetery on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock by Revs. O.L. Gochenour, pastor of the Newsoms Methodist Church, and L.F. Smith, pastor of the Newsoms Baptist Church. Pallbearers were Garland Barnes, Allen Darden, Robert Darden, Epps Prince, George Prince and John Prince.
