Horeb United Methodist Church by the Rev. Harry Bunch. Burial was in Newsoms Cemetery with McDowell Funeral Home of Boykins in charge. Pallbearers were Beaury Raiford, Hubert Raiford, Marion Raiford, Shelton Raiford, Reginald Bradshaw, August Bradshaw, Marvin Cooke and Charlie Holland. Raiford, 73, died Sunday in Southampton Memorial Hospital after an illness of several days. A native of Southampton County, he was the husband of Mrs. Mary Joyner Raiford and a son of Vernie and Mrs. Caroline Bulls Raiford. He was a retired farmer and a member of Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church. Besides his widow, surviving are a son, Lee Raiford, and a sister, Mrs. Otelia Pond, both of Newsoms; a brother, Albert Raiford of Sedley; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
