All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ EDWARD JACKSON RAIFORD Edward Jackson Raiford, a prominent and well-known citizen of the Corinth community of this county, died at the home of his nephew, Dr. R.L. Raiford, in Sedley Wednesday night. Funeral services will be held from Corinth Friends Church this (Friday) afternoon at 2 o’clock by Rev. A.E. Cloud, pastor of the deceased. Mr. Raiford was a useful man in his community, a life-long member and staunch supporter of the Friends Church. He was a successful farmer, took an active interest in education and in the moral welfare of his neighborhood and county, and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his widow, who was Miss Bertha G. Copeland of Woodland, N.C., and by six children by a former marriage; Mrs. R.B. Wilson, Jr., of Green Bay, Va., Mrs. W.S. Urquhart of Sedley and Misses Mary Lou and Lulu Raiford of Corinth; E. Paul Raiford of Dante, Va., and Edward F. Raiford of Norfolk, besides a wife circle of relatives and friends.
