All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ ROBERT HUDSON RAIFORD Robert Hudson Raiford, 65, of the Franklin community died Sunday morning in the Henry Wise Hospital, Norfolk, after an illness of short duration. Mr. Raiford was a son of the late Giles and Margaret Worrell Raiford of Franklin. He had been employed by the Camp Manufacturing Company for several years as a carpenter. He was a member of the Burdette Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mrs. J.B. Horne of Suffolk and Mrs. T.E. Britt and Mrs. J.T. Parker of Franklin; a son, Robert H. Raiford Jr. of Franklin; four grandchildren; three brothers, L.T. and Claude Raiford of Alexandria and L.L. Hatfield of Hickory, N.C.; and a sister, Mrs. E.H. Beaton of Franklin. Funeral services were conducted at the grave in Black Creek cemetery on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock by Rev. W.B. Watson, pastor of the Black Creek Baptist Church. The pallbearers were Oscar L. Joyner, Leland Beale, Arthur Carr, Lloyd Raiford, Mitchell Munford, Otis Rainey, Sam Eubanks and Charlie Holt.
