RAIFORD Hunter Day Raiford, 65, prominent farmer of the Ivor and Corinth community, died Wednesday morning at his home after an illness of many months. He was the son of the late George W. and Almedia Raiford. Mr. Raiford was a charter member of the Ivor Ruritan Club, prominent in educational work and a member of Corinth Friends Church. Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Edith Cheyney Raiford of Ivor; one daughter, Mrs. Marianna R. Powell of Richmond; three sons, Walter C. Raiford of Nashville, Tenn., George H. Raiford of Victoria, Joseph C. Raiford of Ivor; two grandchildren; three brothers, Dr. R.L. Raiford of Franklin, E. Jerome Raiford of Petersburg and E. Wistar Raiford of Ivor; two sisters. Mrs. Ethel R. Neave of Guilford College and Mrs. Esther R. Hare of Holland and a number of nieces and nephews. Services are being conducted this afternoon at 3 o'clock (E.S.T.) at the Corinth Friends Church by the Rev. James Rauch Stein, his pastor, assisted by a nephew of Mrs. Raiford, Harold Cheyney of Newark, N.J. Pallbearers are L.E. Beale, Tyler Edwards, L.T. Saunders, W. Burnley Raiford, John E. Babb, John H. Stephenson, Charles E. Neave and W.C. Andrews, with burial in Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley.
