JESSE THOMAS RAIFORD

   Jesse Thomas Raiford, 60, a native of Southampton County, died Thursday in 
a Philadelphia Hospital. Mr. Raiford, a resident of Atlantic City area of New 
Jersey had been a teacher for many years. Born in the Corinth Community, he 
was educated in the old Corinth Academy, at Westtown, Pa., Boarding School and 
Earlham College, Richmond, Ind.

   He was the son of the late William G. and Lizzie Roberts Raiford. Survivors 
include his wife Mrs. Dorothea McWilliams Raiford, a daughter, Mrs. Joanna 
Raiford McCain of Northfield, N.J. and a son , Dr. J. William Raiford of 
Levittown, N.J., eight grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Ellen R. Glenn of 
Raleigh, N.C., and a brother, Eugene R. Raiford of Westtown, Pa.

   A viewing service was conducted at Jeffrey’s Funeral Home on Sunday evening 
at seven o’clock followed at eight o’clock by a private funeral service. In 
respect for Mrs. Glenn the Friends Monthly Meeting of Raleigh held a memorial 
service in the United Church during hours to coincide with services in New 
Jersey.

   At the close of the eleven o’clock worship service at Corinth Friends 
Meeting, where Jesse Raiford held his membership, a short memorial service was 
held in his memory.

   Today (Monday) the remains will be placed in a cemetery in Trenton, N.J.

   Mrs. Raiford’s address will be 315 Booye Terrace, Northfield, N.J.

 Bill Raiford (family historian) state that Jesse was buried in 
 Laurel Memorial Cem., Northfield, New Jersey.
