On Saturday, August 23, Mrs. Aquilla Raiford departed from the life of this world, just as night was coming on, to enter a world which contains neither night nor darkness. For more than three score years she had been a blessing to others. She was always a devoted wife and mother. She loved God's word and His work. Her membership was at Black Creek Baptist church. She leaves a husband, Mr. Aquilla Raiford, a daughter Mrs. Harry C. Lowe and three sons, Charles, Allen and Leonard Raiford. Her body was laid to rest in the family burying ground. The grave was covered with beautiful flowers brought by her friends. "Her loved ones will miss her, her friends will see her no more, her place is vacant in her home, but enshrined in the hearts she lives, and to live in hearts we leave behind is no to die."
