All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ LUDORA BARNES RAIFORD Mrs. Ludora Barnes Raiford, aged 68 years, well-known resident of Corinth community, died December 29 at her home after an illness of many weeks. She was the daughter of the late John C. and Sarah Bradshaw Barnes, of Southampton County, and wife of Charles E. Raiford. Besides her husband she is survived by one daughter, Miss Evelyn Paige Raiford, and one son, H. Stanley Raiford, both of Ivor; two brothers, John J. Barnes of Suffolk, and Samuel D. Barnes of Roanoke Rapids; one sister, Mrs. W.N. Raiford of Sedley; three nephews and one niece. Funeral services were held at Corinth Friends Church Monday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock by the Rev. James R. Stein. Burial took place in the family cemetery near Ivor. Pallbearers were: Robert Raiford, Herman Barnes, Johnnie Stephenson, Charles Neave, Fred, Dudley and Burnley Raiford.
