All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ MARGARET ELIZABETH HATFIELD RAIFORD Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Raiford, aged 81 years, widow of Giles Raiford, died Tuesday morning about 3 o’clock after an illness of two weeks at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E.H. Beaton, in the Black Creek community. She was a faithful member of Black Creek Baptist Church and took an active part in all church activities. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Beaton; four sons, L.L. Hatfield of Hickory, N.C., Hunter Raiford of Burdette, Claudie and Linwood Raiford of Washington of Sedley, and 21 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted from Black Creek Baptist Church Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock by the Rev. R.P. Welch of Farmville, assisted by the Rev. Rufus Corbitt of Whaleyville. Burial was made at the old home place in the Black Creek community.
