  A young man by the name of Milton Rayfield, [sic] who resided near Berlin, 
Southampton county, while engaged in gathering grapes in the woods near his 
home last Thursday, shot himself through his heart accidentally, and was 
instantly killed. 


Milton RAIFORD, laborer, 
accidentally shot himself Sep 1879*, near Berlin, age 24,

The {recopied} Southampton Co. D.Recs. give: 
   Raiford, Miller, sn/o ___ & Daiza Raiford, d. 10 Sep 1879, age 25 
   (p. 354 {orig.p. 3 #89}) 

His mother's name was spelled variously, but she was Dianna W. "Diza" (BAILEY; 
   Mrs. Allen) RAIFORD. 

His bro Henry RAIFORD is buried in the RAIFORD-MUNFORD family cemetery, 
   off Appleton Rd., between Corinth Meeting House & the Corinth Friends 
   (RAIFORD-BRADSHAW) Cemetery.
