WILLIE NICHOLSON RAIFORD

   SEDLEY - Willie Nicholson Raiford, 82, a retired farmer, died Tuesday 
afternoon in his home.

   A native of Southampton County, he lived here all his life.  He was a son 
of Vernie and Mrs. Martha Bradshaw* Raiford and the husband of Mrs. Fannie 
Barnes Raiford.

   He was a member of Millsfield Baptist Church.

   Besides his widow, surviving are a son, J. Shelton Raiford of Franklin; a 
sister, Mrs. Otelia Pond of Sedley; two brothers, Emmett Raiford and Albert 
Raiford of Sedley; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

   A funeral service was conducted Thursday at 3:30 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland & 
Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Joseph L. McTeer of Millsfield Baptist Church. 
Burial was in Rosemont Cemetery Sedley.

   Pallbearers were Herbert Raiford, Drewry D. Raiford, Lee Raiford, Allie 
Johnson, Marion Raiford and Billie Wade.
