Rose of this town, died at the St. Regis Hospital, Salem, Va., early Monday morning, December 13. Her mother had been advised by telegram that her condition was serious and was hastening to her daughter's bedside reaching Salem severral hours after her death. The body was brought to Franklin by Mrs. Rose and her son, Mr. Livy Rose of Norfolk, Tuesday, the funeral being held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Miss Rose was a young woman of many admirable qualities, and the bereaved family has the universal sympathy of our townspeople in the untimely death of this splendid young woman in her twenty-seventh year. She was possessed of a charming and genial personality and was quite a favorite with the young people of the town and community. She had been a member of the Baptist church since early childhood, and was an active worker in the Young Woman's Auxiliary, the junior missionary organization of her church, acting as its secretary and treasurer for some time until failing health had interfered with her regular attendance. She is survived by her widowed mother, Mrs. Rebecca Rose; four brothers, Fred M., Livy and Robert H. of Norfolk and C. Ryland Rose of this town; by one sister, Miss Lily Rose of Franklin, and a wide circle of relative and many warm, personal friends. The funeral services were held from the Franklin Baptist Church by Rev. M.A. MacLean, pastor of the deceased, in the presence of a large concourse of sorrowing friends. Interment followed in Poplar Spring Cemetery, the active pallbearers being: J. Powell Eley, Gardner T. Edwards, J. Edgar Weede, Linwood Moore, Leland Fleetwood, W.T.
