All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ BLANDIE PARKER RICKS FRANKLIN - Mrs. Blandie Parker Ricks, 79, died Monday morning in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Sally R. Griffin. She was a daughter of John and Mrs. Georgianna Manns Parker. A native of Southampton County, she was a member of Franklin Congregational Christian Church. Besides Mrs. Griffin, surviving are two other daughters, Mrs. Mildred Babb of Sebrell and Mrs. Violet Taylor of the State of Washington; three sons, William Ricks of Emporia, John Sam Ricks of Suffolk and Randolph Ricks of Hampton; a sister, Mrs. Sally Cook of Richmond; 22 grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren. A funeral service was conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Elmo Nauman of Congregational Christian Church and the Rev. Edwin C. Thornton of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins. Pallbearers were James Cook, Bud Cook, Howard Worrell, Burt Blythe, George Cebie, Eldridge Cutchins, Gilliam McGhee. [Blandie (PARKER; Mrs. David C.)
