Holland and Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Robert D. Fridley. Burial was in Southampton Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Scott Lassiter, Sam Powell Sr., Jimmy Jones, Joseph W. Duell, Sam Powell Jr. and C.M. Framton. A native of Greensville County, he was a retired electrician of Union Camp Corp. He was the husband of Mrs. Edna Earl Hux Rook and a son of Thomas and Mrs. Lucy Carpenter Rook. He was a member of High Street United Methodist Church. Besides his widow, surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ann Rook Williams of Hampton; two sons, Curtis C. Rook Jr. of Newport News and Bernard Earl Rook of Courtland ; four sisters, Mrs. Richard Baird and Mrs. Emmett Clary of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., Mrs. Fred Akers of Victoria and Mrs. Frankie Gray of Richmond; a brother, Jim T. Rook of Richmond; and four grandchildren.
