All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ ERNEST LEE ROCK Ernest Lee Rock, age 38, died Saturday morning, June 6, at Sarah Leigh Hospital, Norfolk, after a brief illness. Mr. Rock was a native of Bristol, Virginia, moving to Boykins about 18 years ago where he was connected with the C.B. Rock Motor Co. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Rock of Bristol. Besides his parents he is survived by his wife, who was Miss Helen Gray; one son, Elmo Rock; four sisters, Mrs. M.W. Goodson and Mrs. W.B. Clark of Bristol, Mrs. Don Draper and Mrs. L.P. McCoy of Alexandria; four brothers, C.B. Rock of Boykins, Herbert and Richard Rock of Bristol and Burrus Rock of Benhams. Mr. Rock was a member of the Methodist Church in Bristol but since living in Boykins attended the Baptist Church. He was a devoted father and husband. Funeral services were conducted from the home of his mother-in-law, Mrs. Helen Gray Saturday evening, Rev. F.B. Handley and Rev. J.L. Kibler officiating. Music was furnished by the choirs of the Boykins churches. Sunday the body was taken to Bristol for interment accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. C.B. Rock, James Rock, Mrs. Ernest Rock and Elmo Rock. The floral designs were many and beautiful.
