LUCILLE JONES RICE

   BOYKINS - Lucille Jones Rice, 69, a retired bookkeeper, died Mar. 8, in a 
hospital.

   Mrs. Rice, a native of Halifax County, was a member of Boykins Baptist 
Church and Woodmen of the World Emporia Camp.

   Survivors include her husband, James E. Rice of Emporia and Jerry D. Rice 
of Boykins; and six grandchildren.

   The funeral was conducted Tuesday in Boykins Baptist Church by the Rev. 
Philip Motley.  Burial was in Beechwood Cemetery.  McDowell Funeral Home 
handled the arrangements.
