FRANKLIN - A funeral service for F. Paul (Paulette) Rose Jr., 63, was held at 3 p.m. Sunday in Franklin Baptist Church by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins. Burial with military honors was in Poplar Spring Cemetery, with Wright Funeral Home in charge. Rose died Friday in a hospital. A native of Southampton County, he had retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a pipefitter. He was a member of Franklin Baptist Church and its Bruner Bible Class, Local Pipefitters Union 272 and Woodmen of the World. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Bertha Vaughan Rose; two daughters, Carol R. Dixon of Courtland and Connie R. Hatfield of Burdette; two sons, Jimmy Rose of Franklin and Jerry Rose of Courtland; three stepdaughters, Sylvia Bryant of Aulander, N.C., Rose Kennington of Harrellsville, N.C. and Shirley Wright of Franklin; a stepson, Irvin Stephens of Como, N.C.; a brother, Sol. L. Rose of Franklin; five grandchildren; and 13 step-grandchildren.
