FRANKLIN - William Samuel Rogers, Jr., 88, of 213 B. Forest Pines Apt., died Tuesday in Southampton Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Gordonsville, Va., and had formerly resided in Portsmouth, Va. He was a retired executive with forty-five years of service with the Richmond Cedar Works. He was a graduate of University of South Carolina and N.C. State University, and an Army 1st Lt. in WWI. He was a member of the Franklin High Street United Methodist Church and a very active Mason for over sixty years. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Cutchins Rogers; a sister, Mrs. R.M. Morris of Hinton, W.Va.; two brothers, J.K. Rogers of Dallas, Texas, and Walter Carr Rogers of Virginia Beach, Va. Graveside funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday in Poplar Spring Cemetery, by the Rev. A.D. Goodson. The family suggests that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to the charity of one's choice. Wright Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
