Richardson, 52 years old, died at a Norfolk hospital at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon, following an illness of four weeks at the institution. Mr. Richardson was a resident of Courtland, Va., and he is survived by his widow, Mrs. Sally C. Richardson, and his father, C.C. Richardson, of Waverly, Va. Funeral arrangements have not been completed. ****************************************************************************** CHARLES W. RICHARDSON Charles W. Richardson, 52, of Courtland, Va., husband of Mrs. Sally C. Richardson, died Sunday at a local hospital. ****************************************************************************** Charles W. Richardson, 52, a leading citizen of Southampton County, died Monday at Sarah Leigh Hospital, Norfolk, after an operation and lingering illness. Mr. Richardson was a member of the Birdsong Peanut Company at Courtland, and was widely known in both Nansemond and Southampton Counties. Mrs. Richardson is survived by his widow, Mrs. Sallie Chappell; his father, C.C. Richardson; three brothers, A.F. and E.B. Richardson, of Wakefield, Va., and E.C. Richardson, of Suffolk; three sisters, Mrs. Emmett Drewry, of Wakefield, Mrs. P.S. Emory, of Dendron, Va., and Mrs. G.P. Pond, of Wakefield, and a large number of relatives in Sussex County, his native home. The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Waverley [sic; Waverly], Va. A large number of Suffolk people attended. Oliver of Norfolk; the informant was A.F. RICHARDSON, Courtland [his brother?]. He married Sallie Spratley CHAPPELL 17 Oct 1900 in Sussex Co. The Sussex Co. M.Reg. 1900 White #17 gives daughter of E.T. & S.N. CHAPPELL. Her D.Cert. 12237 (Jerusalem #3) gives daughter of R.L. & Sallie (SPRATLEY) CHAPPEL. Her parents Edward Thomas & Sallie Nicholas (SPRATLEY) CHAPPELL are buried in the Chappell-Burt-Bain family cemetery in Sussex Co. (Find a Grave Cemetery ID #2395677) His parents, Charles Coker & "Mollie" Mary E. (COX) RICHARDSON, are buried in Spring Hill Christian Church Cemetery, near Waverly.
