CHURCHILL GIBSON RIDLEY

   Churchill Gibson Ridley, 83, of Violet Hill Plantation, Courtland, Va., 
died Thursday, September 2, 1976.  He was a prominent well known farmer, and 
was an avid sportsman.  He was a graduate of Randolp-Macon Academy; Norfolk 
Business College; and a Charter Member of Davis-Ridley Hunt Club.  He is 
survived by his wife, Mrs. Ina Burks Ridley; three daughters, Mrs. Gwendolyn 
Ridley Gillette of Courtland, Mrs. Anne Ridley Bain of Capron and Mrs. Anne 
Ridley Bain of Capron and Mrs. Ina Ridley Pittman of Petersburg; nine 
grandchildren.  A funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the 
graveside in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland, by Rev. Harry L. Kidd and Rev. 
Boston Lacky.  Remains rest at the Wright Funeral Home, Franklin.
