Mr. Norfleet Blount Ridley, son of Mr. Robert Ridley, died at the residence of his father, No. 524 Glasgow Street, yesterday afternoon at 6 o'clock, in the 25th year of his age. Mr. Ridley was very popular and made many friends for himself. He had been employed as a clerk at the Seaboard Air-Line for several years and was well liked by the company. His funeral will take place Tuesday day morning at 8:30 from Trinity P.E. Church. The remains will be forwarded to Southampton County for interment. ****************************************************************************** PORTSMOUTH LOCAL. [...] Death of a Youug Man. We regret to learn of the death of Mr. Norfleet B. Ridley, which occurred last evening at 6 o'clock at the residence of his father, Mr. Robert Ridley, No. 524 Glasgow street, after a protracted illness. He was only 24 years of age. The funeral will take place from Trinity P.E. Church Chapel on Tuesday morning at 8:30 o'clock and the remains will be conveyed over the Atlantic and Danville railroad to Rock Spring, Southampton county, for interment. Portsmouth D.Reg. 1894 #21 His father was a Confederate veteran, having fought as VMI cadet at New Market, then serving as fourth sergeant in Co. C, 13th VA Cavalry.
