GEORGE WASHINGTON RITTER

   George W. Ritter, 80 years old and a well-known and prosperous farmer died 
at his home in Windsor October 6, after a short illness.  Mr. Ritter was a 
native of Southampton County, but has made Windsor his home for a number of 
years.

   He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rosa Lewis Ritter, seven daughters and 
five sons, Mrs. P.S. Cutchins, Mrs. W.G.T. Tuttle and Mrs. L.L. Beaton of 
Portsmouth; Mrs. W.C. Wilbur, G.W. Ritter and W.S. Ritter of Norfolk; G.H. 
Ritter, Mrs. J.C. Johnson and Mrs. E.R. Johnson, of Handsom; H.L. Ritter and 
J.M. Ritter of Windsor, and Mrs. Elma Herrod, of St. Petersburg, Fla., besides 
19 grandchildren.

   Funeral services were held from the Windsor Baptist Church last Friday 
afternoon at 3:00 o’clock, conducted by the Rev. Mr. Carroll.  Interment was 
made in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin.
