LYDIA ELIZABETH BRYANT RAILEY

MRS. ELIZABETH B. RAILEY

   Mrs. Elizabeth Bryant Railey, 81, died at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, April 
2, at the residence in Newsoms of her son, Russell Brett Railey.

   The deceased was a lifelong residence of the Statesville community. She was 
the widow of James Goodman Railey and daughter of the late Richard and Mrs. 
Martha Hill Bryant.

   She is survived by another son, John Richard Railey of Severn, N.C.; four 
granddaughters; and a number of nieces and nephews.

   Funeral services were conducted this (Thursday) afternoon at 3:30 o'clock in 
Barnes Methodist Church, of which Mrs. Railey was a member. Officiating was the 
pastor, Rev. O.L. Gochenour.

   Burial was in the Bryant family cemetery at Statesville, the pallbearers 
being H.A. Barrett, R.E. Drake, C.R. Everett, C.M. Floyd, Dr. J.J. Grizzard, 
L.S. Myrick, E.B. Prince, J.V. Simmons and L.L. Thorpe.
