Mrs. Rawls, a native of Henderson, N.C., was a past president of Franklin Garden Club. She was a member of the board of directors of the Garden Clubs of Virginia and had received their Horticulture Award in 1968. She was a past vice president of the Girl Scouts of America, Greater Council of Tidewater. Survivors include her husband, Sol W. Rawls, Jr.; three daughters, Ann R. Adams and Betsy R. Agelasto, both of Virginia Beach, and Patricia P. Rawls of Norfolk; a son, Sol W. Rawls, III of New York City; a sister, Closs P. Wardlaw of Chapel Hill, N.C.; a brother, Samuel T. Peace, Jr. of Henderson; and five grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Franklin Baptist Church by the Revs. Michael J. Clingenpeel and Ira D. Hudgins. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Southampton Memorial Hospital's endowment fund.
