High St., a retired timber cruiser, died Jan. 23, in a hospital. Mr. Rawls, a native of Franklin, retired from Continental Forest industries, Wakefield. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Franklin Baptist Church, Loyla Order of Moose Lodge 5192 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4411. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Pixley Rawls; two daughters, Sheryl Ann Rawls of Camp Lejeune, N.C., and Charla R. Darden of Franklin; a stepson, Church Whitley of Suffolk; a sister, Malita R. Askew of Gates County, N.C.; and two grandchildren. A graveside service was conducted Sunday in Southampton Memorial Park by the Rev. Ira Hudgins.
