FRANKLIN - Mrs. Lavinia Barrett (Bene) Rawls, 83, died Monday morning in Portsmouth General Hospital. A native of Franklin, she was the widow of Charles Spurgeon Rawls. She was a member of Franklin Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. W. H. Askew, Jr. of Gates, NC; a son, Charles C. Rawls of Franklin; and two grandchildren. A Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery.
