The Rev. R.P. Chappell and the Rev. R.E. Brittle officiated and burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Mrs. Rawls was the widow of Charles Randolph Rawls and is survived by two daughters, Mrs. John Pavlovsky, of Takoma Park, Md., and Mrs. Delaney Hingerty, of Nansemond County; two sons, Charles R. Rawls, of Elizabeth City, N.C., and James Jones Rawls, of Nansemond County, and three grandchildren. ****************************************************************************** LIZZIE GARRIE JONES RAWLS Mrs. Lizzie Garrie Jones Rawls, 75, a resident of the South Quay community, Nansemond County, died at her home early Friday morning, September 10, after several years of ill health. The deceased was the wife of the late Charles Randolph Rawls and the daughter of the late Rev. James E. and Eugenia Gardner Jones of Nansemond County. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. John Pavlovsky of Takoma Park, Md., and Mrs. Delaney Hingerty of Nansemond County; two sons, Charles R. Rawls of Elizabeth City, N.C. and James Jones Rawls of Nansemond County; and three grandchildren. Funeral Services were conducted at the South Quay Baptist Church, of which the deceased was a member, on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock by the pastor, Rev. R.P. Chappell, and Rev. R.E. Brittle. Interment was in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin. Pallbearers were Hudnall Christopher, A.C. Hingerty, Bruce Johnson, Bobby Jones, J. Jack Jones, W.F. Jones, Ashby Rawls and John W. Robertson.
