OWEN ROBERT RAWLS, JR.

   Ivor - Funeral services for Owen Robert (Doodle) Rawls, 56, will be held 
Thursday at 2 p.m. in Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield, by the Rev. James M. 
Hague. Burial will be in Ivor Cemetery.

   Pallbearers were; Peyton Kea, J.J. Bradshaw, J. Russell West, C.A. Newsome, 
Warren Cobb Jr., Julian Felts, Fred Ashby, Merrell Carr and Marion Rayford.

   Honorary pallbearers were members of the Ivor volunteer fire department.

   Rawls died Tuesday in Louise Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk.

   He was a native of Isle of Wight County and the husband of Mrs. Barbara 
Brothers Rawls. He was a member of Ivor United Methodist Church, where he was 
Sunday school superintendent.

   He was a charter member of Ivor Volunteer Fire Department, treasurer of Ivor 
Ruritan Club, and was an Army veteran of World War II.

   He was a retired employee of Virginia State Department of Agriculture.

   Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Brenda E. Smith of Chesapeake; two 
sons, R. Kilby Rawls and Ricky C. Rawls of Ivor; and a granddaughter.
