All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ ROBERT ADDISON RAWLS Robert Addison Rawls, 46*, of Massillion, Ala., a former resident of Franklin and of the Holland community, was instantly killed Thursday night, March 30, in an automobile accident near his home. He was the son of John A. Rawls of Holland and the late Mrs. Collie Ellis Rawls of Nansemond County. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Louise Rawls, and a daughter, Miss Geraldine Rawls, of Massillon; his father and his stepmother, Mrs. Louise Cutchins Rawls; a sister, Mrs Margaret Rawls Boykin of Ivor; and two brothers, James Rawls of Holland and J.L. Rawls of Winter Haven, Fla. The body arrived in Franklin on Sunday morning; and funeral services were held at the graveside in Poplar Spring Cemetery at 4 p.m., Rev. R.D. Stephenson and Rev. J.C. Lanning officiating. Active pallbearers were Bruce Johnson, Ashby Rawls, S.W. Rawls, Jr., Charles R. Rawls, H.W. Stephenson, Jack G. Holland, Baxter Rittenberry and George Watkins.
