He was the son of the late Samuel J. and Cora Barker Rollings. He was a retired farmer, a member of Bennett’s Christian Church and the Wakefield Hunt Club. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ethel Simmons Rollings; three daughters, Mrs. Alf F. Vick Jr. of Wakefield, Mrs. Linwood M. Britton Jr. of Franklin and Mrs. V.B. Holland of Jacksonville, Ark. Seven sons, H. Earl and Gilbert S. Rollings of Wakefield, Samuel G. of Stony Creek, Robert K. of Colonial Heights, Francis H. of Boykins, Graham D. of the U.S. Marines stationed in the Dominican Republic, and J. Marshall Rollings; 20 grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. H.M. Haynes of Suffolk, Mrs. G.E. Walston of Greensboro, N.C., Mrs. T.A. Redmon of Alexandria, Mrs. F.M. Richards of Fredericksburg and Mrs. Lawrence C. Scott of Stauton; and two brothers, James S. and Dudley N. Rollings, both Suffolk. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the Purviance Funeral Chapel in Wakefield by the Rev. H.E. Crutchfield. Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Wakefield.
