Carl Lee Ousley, pastor and the Rev. Harry Bunch. Burial was in Newsoms Cemetery. Pallbearers were Guy P. Rountree, Donald E. Rountree Jr., Walter Porter, Jimmie Cook, Hugh C. Vincent Jr. and R.B. Story. A native of Southampton County, she was the widow of Daniel Benjamin Rountree and a daughter of Robert Fletcher and Mrs. Annie Deal Vincent. She was member of Newsoms Baptist Church, Newsoms Golden Age Club, and Women’s Christian Temperance Union. Surviving are a son, Lemuel V. Rountree of Newsoms; four stepsons, Benjamin F. Rountree of Portsmouth and Valon F. Rountree, Guy P. Rountree, and Donald E. Rountree of Newsoms; a stepdaughter, Mrs. J.C. Blythe of Greenville, N.C.; a brother, Hugh C. Vincent Sr. of Newsoms; and two grandchildren. Carrie (VINCENT; Mrs. Daniel B.)
