Rountree was conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Charles E. Smith. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were William T. Jones, Dr. Darden W. Jones, Hayes Holland, Vaughan Beale, Wesley Wills, Letcher Eley, J.H. Holland and Samuel Bradshaw. Rountree, 85, died Monday morning in Chowan Nursing Home, Ahoskie, N.C. He was the husband of the late Mrs. Emily Fanny Rountree and a son of Nathaniel and Mrs. Mary Ann Francis Rountree. He was a member of Franklin Congregational Christian Church. Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
