All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ ROCHELLE JORDAN ROUNTREE Rochelle Jordan Rountree, 53, well known resident of Franklin, died suddenly December 22 at his home on the Franklin-Courtland Boulevard. He had been in ill health for some months. Surviving Mr. Rountree are his wife, Mrs. Burnette Councill Rountree; two sons, Jordan Rountree, Jr., and Councill Rountree, both of Norfolk; two brothers, Chaplain H.E. Rountree of San Diego, Calif., and W.T. Rountree of Oyster Point, Va.; two sisters, Mrs. H.B. Harrell of Portsmouth, and Mrs. H.P. Taylor of Suffolk. Funeral services were held from the residence Monday afternoon, December 23 at 1 o'clock by Dr. Elwood W. Jones, pastor of Franklin Congregational Christian Church. Burial was made in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The pallbearers were: R.C. Councill, H.G. Councill, R.E. Coggsdale, L.B. Norfleet, T.A. Gillette, Jr., J. Letcher Eley and J.P. Richardson of Norfolk.
