All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ CHARLES JUDSON RAYMOND FORMER FRANKLIN MAN ELECTROCUTED Charles Judson Raymond, 29, a former resident of Franklin, was killed late Wednesday night while operating an electrically-powered loom in the plant of the Riverside Mills at Danville. Danville City Coroner H.A. Wiseman said that death was due to a short circuit in the loom. Raymond is survived by his mother, Mrs. Myra Osborn Raymond of Danville; a brother, F.B. Raymond, also of Danville, and a sister, Mrs. D.L. Brett, of Franklin. The body was shipped to Franklin for burial and services took place this afternoon at 3 o’clock in the Franklin Baptist Church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. R.D. Stephenson. Burial was made in Poplar Spring Cemetery with the following pallbearers: R.H. Allen, R. Ellsworth Jones, George Watkins, Gardner Cobb, Herbert Edwards, T.C. Holland Jr., Edward F. Gilliam and W.M. Weede.
