"Jay" Spivey, 83, died Friday, May 12, 2000. She was born in Kinston, N.C., the daughter of the late Jesse and Cora Byrum Coburn and was the widow of Johnny N. Spivey. She was a member of Franklin Church of God. Survivors include a sister, Louise C. Bohenstiel, and her husband, E.J. Jr., of Virginia Beach; sister-in-law, Mary Coburn of Franklin; and a host of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Southampton Memorial Park with the Rev. James Ashby officiating. The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday and other times at the home of Mary Coburn, 2173 Carrsville Hwy.
