EUNICE COUNCILL SHEFFIELD 

   Mrs. Eunice Councill Sheffield, 41, a native of this county and a former 
resident of Franklin, died at her home in Norfolk early Monday morning.  She 
was the daughter of the late William Edward and Rosa Bell Cobb Councill of 
Southampton County.

   Mrs. Sheffield is survived by her husband, A.D. Sheffield; a son, A.D. 
Sheffield, Jr. and a daughter, Evelyn Sheffield, all of Norfolk; two sisters, 
Mrs. H.T. Sheffield of Suffolk and Mrs. Cora Morris of Waverly; three 
brothers, R.C. and H.G. Councill of Franklin and W.T. Councill of Sunbeam, 
besides a number of nieces and nephews.

   Services were held from the Holland Funeral Home here Tuesday afternoon at 
5 o’clock, conducted by Dr. John G. Truitt of Suffolk, assisted by the Rev. 
B.B. Bland of High St. Methodist Church.  Music was rendered by the choir of 
the Franklin Congregational Christian Church, the songs being "The Old, Rugged 
Cross" and "In the Sweet Bye and Bye."  There were many beautiful floral 
tributes.

   Pallbearers were H.O. Wells, W.B. Covington, V.C. Cottingham and Jack 
Conant of Norfolk, O.W. and C.H. Sheffield of Suffolk, W.E. Beale of Holland 
and W. Herman Howell of Franklin.  Interment was in Poplar Spring Cemetery 
here.
