Sheffield, of Glade Springs, who formerly practiced medicine in Suffolk, will be conducted at the graveside in Franklin tomorrow at 11 a.m. Dr. Sheffield, who was 51, died at Glade Springs yesterday. Surviving Dr. Sheffield are his widow, Mrs. Stella Smith Sheffield, of Suffolk; and three daughters, Mrs. Walter N. Smith, of Hopewell, and Misses Nell and Virginia Sheffield of Suffolk. ****************************************************************************** DR. ALFRED THOMAS SHEFFIELD Dr. A. Thomas Sheffield, former Franklin man, the only son of the late J.T. and Mrs. Eliza Cobb Sheffield of this town, died at Glade Springs, Va., April 5, in his 51st year. He attended the Franklin Military Academy and after graduation from the Medical College of Virginia, Dr. Sheffield practiced for a number of years in Holland and Suffolk, and had been recently living in Southwest Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Stella Smith Sheffield of Suffolk; three daughters, Mrs. Walter N. Smith of Hopewell and Misses Nelle and Virginia Sheffield of Suffolk; by one sister, Mrs. Seth Robertson of Fayetteville, N.C., and a large family connection here. The body was brought to Franklin for burial which took place in the family plot in Poplar Spring Cemetery Tuesday morning at 11 o’clock, with services conducted at the grave by the Rev. R.D. Stephenson. Pallbearers were: H.G. Cobb, Alfred Cobb, P.R. Camp, J.F. Bryant, Jr., Dr. J.C. Rawls, Roger I. Beale, Jesse Weede and J.J. Bradshaw.
