Mrs. Spain, a native of Newsoms, was a member of Newsoms United Methodist Church and the widow of George L. Spain. Survivors include a daughter, Odelle Spain of Norfolk; five sisters, Ruby Fowler of Boykins, Ethel Saunders of Suffolk, Gladys Shaw, Evelyn Farrell and Bernice Decker, all of Portsmouth; and two brothers, Edward D. Bunn of Salisbury, Md., and Bennie L. Bunn of Newsoms. A graveside service was conducted Saturday in Hollywood Cemetery, Newsoms, by the Rev. Darrell L. Bays.
