He was a native of Southampton County and lived the greater part of his life in this community and in Courtland and had made his home for several months with Mr. and Mrs. S.V. Camp. The deceased had been in ill-health for several years and though he suffered intensely at times, bore his afflictions patiently and bravely to the end. Mr. Sebrell never married and made his home with his brother, Hon. James E. Sebrell of Courtland, until the latter moved to Norfolk. He was a man of quiet, unobtrusive nature and upright character. Burial services were conducted at the grave in the Sebrell cemetery Monday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, services being read by Rev. J.E. Brooks. A large concourse of relatives and friends were present to pay their last tribute of respect. The floral offerings were beautiful, covering the entire mound. Mr. Sebrell is survived by two brothers, Hon. James E. Sebrell of Norfolk and Jno. N. Sebrell, Sr., of Courtland, besides a number of nieces and nephews in this and other counties.
