She was the widow of Thomas Henry Skinner and a daughter of Allen J. and Mrs. Lavina Carr Faircloth. A native of Southampton* County, she lived in Franklin 58 years and was a member of Franklin Baptist Church and its Woman’s Missionary Society and King’s Servant Bible Class. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Virginia S. Wade of Franklin and Mrs. W. Richard Barnes of Suffolk; two sisters, Mrs. L.T. Saunders of Ivor and Mrs. J. Howard Holleman of Surry; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A funeral service was conducted Monday at 2:30 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home, Franklin by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins of Franklin Baptist Church and the Rev. L.T. Saunders, Jr. of Warrenton. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were A. Walter Saunders, Joseph H. Holleman, Jr., David T. Skinner, Richard Barnes, Jr., Charles West, Jr., John T. Faircloth, Jr., Allen J. Faircloth and Herman Faircloth. Mary A. (FAIRCLOTH; Mrs. Thomas H.)
