All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ THOMAS HENRY SKINNER RETIRED LUMBERMAN DIES AT HOME IN FRANKLIN FRANKLIN, VA., Oct. 16 - Thomas Henry Skinner, 82, retired lumberman, died Sunday night at his home. He was the son of the late James and Rebecca Griffith Skinner, of Gates County, North Carolina. He was a member of the Franklin Baptist Church and of the Woodmen of the World here. He was one of the oldest members of the Burner Men’s Bible Class of the church. Mr. Skinner came here when he was 21 years old, and went to work for the Camp Manufacturing company. He remained with the company until he was retired about two years ago. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Faircloth Skinner, of Franklin; two daughters, Mrs. W.R. Barnes, Sr., of Suffolk, and Mrs. George T. Wade, of Franklin; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Alice Pierce, of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., and a number of nieces and nephews. The body will be taken to the Franklin Baptist Church Tuesday afternoon and will lie in state for two hours before services, which will be at 4 p.m. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin.
