She was the widow of Bennett Screws and a daughter of Alexander and Mrs. Susan Bradshaw Branch of Franklin, a lifelong resident of Franklin, and a member of Franklin Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, James Riddick Screws of Franklin; two brothers, Gurney W. Branch and Robert C. Branch of Franklin; a granddaughter and four great-grandchildren. A funeral service was conducted Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins of Franklin Baptist Church. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Elmo Eason, Carlton Cutchin, Harry Jones, Roger I. Beale, Jr., Jack Smith, Baird Cabell, Dr. Lemuel A. Branch and R.C. Branche, Jr. Members of the Bruner Bible Class of the Franklin Baptist Church served as honorary pallbearers. Mattie L. (BRANCH; Mrs. Wm.
